Liberty General Insurance Berhad
Coverage and claims remain subject to the insurer’s certificate and full wording.
Cover before movement
The quotation should state the insured value, premium, policy period, excess, exclusions, evidence requirements and claim route before payment.

Practical sequence
Cover wording—not a badge on the page—determines what can be claimed.

Use the accepted vehicle value basis and disclose material modifications.

Check the events, movement period and physical scope named in the wording.

Understand the amount retained by the insured for each accepted claim.

Review wear, mechanical failure, personal items and pre-existing condition treatment.

Keep indexed pre-handover photographs and the signed condition reference.

Report promptly, preserve evidence and use the stated survey/claim process.
Before payment
The final version should be attached to the actual quotation or booking—not inferred from a general webpage.
Current certificate reference
These details are drawn from the current Liberty General Insurance Berhad sample. Every customer still needs an individual certificate naming the accepted vehicle, value, conveyance and journey.
Coverage and claims remain subject to the insurer’s certificate and full wording.
A website description or transport quotation is not a substitute for the issued certificate.
The higher applicable amount is borne by the insured for each and every loss.
Only clauses printed on the customer’s final certificate should be treated as applicable.
Used vehicle wording
“All Risks” does not mean every type of damage. The cause of loss and the exact clause wording still control the claim.
Pre-existing damage is excluded absolutely. Photograph and index the condition before handover.
Rusting, oxidation and discolouration are excluded unless caused by the named insured peril stated in the wording.
Bending, chipping, denting, twisting and scratching are excluded unless caused by the named insured peril.
Mechanical, electronic and electrical derangement is excluded unless caused by the named insured peril.
Warranty
Full cargo-load vehicle movements are subject to the attendance and unattended-vehicle wording in the certificate.
Professional packing or the accepted standard export preparation is required where the certificate makes it applicable.
The vehicle must not be driven under its own power except when moving on or off the vessel, lorry loader or container.
Loss or damage
The objective is to preserve the vehicle condition, the evidence and all rights against the carrier or other responsible party.
→Check the vehicle before leaving the terminal or accepting delivery.
→Do not give a clean receipt when the condition is doubtful; record visible damage and take indexed photographs.
→Notify the insurer or stated channel partner immediately and give written notice to the carrier or responsible party.
→Request the required survey and preserve the vehicle in the condition needed for inspection.
→Send the available claim documents without delay and retain every original or accepted copy.

FAQ
Not automatically. Treat it as separate unless the final quotation states the premium, insured value and wording.
Do not assume so. Personal items are commonly treated separately or excluded; obtain written confirmation.
It creates an indexed reference for visible pre-handover condition and supports a fair evidence trail if an incident is reported.
